Martin is passionate about sharing this information because through personal experience and coaching these principles to athletes and adults alike, he has seen incredible results for himself and his clients for 5 years running.
In our relentless pursuit of sustainable high performance, every breath matters. That's the ethos driving our Breathe to Perform Workshop —an immersive experience meticulously designed for elite athletic teams, police, firefighters, and military personnel. Over the course of 3 hours, participants embark on a transformative journey, cycling between knowledge acquisition and real-time application.
Section 1: Introduction (15 minutes)
Setting the Stage for Health & Optimal Performance
Welcome and Brief Overview: Participants are introduced to Coach Martins story and the fundamental principles of the Breathe to Perform Workshop and its relevance to enhancing physical and mental capabilities.
Icebreaker: We foster a sense of camaraderie and set a positive tone for the workshop!
Section 2: Growth Mindset & Stress is Enhancing Mindset (15 mins)
Learn about the mental frameworks to enhance not only our ability to learn new information through compassionate mistake making, but also to seek out challenges and enhance the rate of learning and growth towards better and better performance!
Section 3: Understanding the 5 pillars of functional breathing at rest with guided facilitation (60 mins)
Nasal Breathing: The function of the sinus and a trick to keep it unclogged
Posture: Not only our body posture but also our tongue posture plays a key role in breathing function.
Breathing Light: Gas Exchange Dynamics: Delve into the science of how the respiratory system facilitates the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide, crucial for sustained performance.
Breathing Low: Learning how to use the diaphragm muscle properly and improve our efficiency of breathing and of oxygen delivery.
Breathing Slow: Practicing a studied rate of breathing to allow for a level of calm confidence and composure in any situation.
Key: Role of Carbon Dioxide: Challenge misconceptions about CO2 and emphasize its pivotal role in regulating blood pH and optimizing oxygen release.
Section 4: Understanding the value if dysfunctional breathing on purpose with guided facilitation (30 mins)
Tummo or Wim Hof Method is a useful tool to help regulate our system and improve immune function. Dysfunctional breathing on purpose is a powerful method that must be done in a safe environment.
